Financial Aid Process

Application Process

Check here to utilize a checklist to ensure you are following the appropriate steps to receive your financial aid.

Cost of Attendance (COA)

Your estimated COA (also known as a budget) is a modest standardized estimate of what it will cost you to attend KU for the academic year.

Verification

Check here for information related to verification and what steps you need to complete if your application has been selected for verification.

Award Notifications

You will receive an email notification when your eligibility for financial aid has been determined and your awards are available for review. Review the Financial Aid Guide for more information on award notifications.

Special Situations

Check here for information about special situations if you believe you have experienced extenuating circumstances that are not reflected on your FAFSA.

Disbursement of Financial Aid

In most cases, financial aid and scholarships will automatically apply toward current tuition, fees, and housing charges. If your financial aid does not cover the total of these charges, you must pay the remaining balance by the appropriate due date to avoid late payment fees. See the Financial Aid Guide for more information.
